ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE SUPPORT
Rees & Rees Insurance Services makes a point to give back to our community. Here are the organizations that we have chosen to support.

Special Olympics of Northern California
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Angels for Paws Animal Rescue
Angels For Paws is a 501(c)(3), foster based animal rescue in Arizona.
After suffering the loss of my father in 2011, my husband recognized that I needed some extra love and support. He decided to look for a kitty to surprise me. It took quite a long time to find the right fit, but in December of 2012, Jamie found Angels for Paws in Southern California. They were fostering mainly dogs, but they happen to have two cats available for adoption. The first little guy was a gray and white shorthair kitty. His personality is quite unique: he is sensitive and loving but also very spirited! We found that he had a likeness to Jim Harbaugh, who was the coach of the 49ers at the time. So, Bandit became Harbaugh. We quickly realized that he needed a cat friend to learn the ropes (aka not biting our ankles and jumping on our legs for attention). Two weeks later, we brought Otis home. He was an orange tabby with a resemblance to Garfield. Otis lived to eat! When he wasn't eating, he was sleeping. Both boys were the perfect opposite of each other so they balanced each other so well. Unfortunately, Otis passed away in November of 2022. Harbaugh continues to be a fiesty boy but now he just takes his attitude out on the dog, Timber. Angels for Paws goes out of their way to match humans to their fur babies and that is what makes their organization so special.
Charlie’s Love Golf Tournament
On June 14th, Rees & Rees Insurance participated in Charlie’s Love Golf Tournament. As a Golf Cart Sponsor, we were able to contribute to the non-profit’s mission of helping local pets find homes and be cared for. Charlie’s Love partners with animal sanctuaries and The Humane Society in Lake Tahoe. As an animal lover, I am thrilled to help to animals in our community and promote the message of Charlie’s Love to others.

Tahoe Joy Festival
On June 8th, Chantal volunteered at the annual Tahoe Joy Festival. The event was presented by the Joy Foundation, and it supports local non-profits. The 2025 beneficiary was The Tahoe Truckee School of Music. Founder Matt Axton drew inspiration from his father Hoyt Axton's iconic hit song "Joy to the World" and he aims to bring joy to the Tahoe City community through music, art, and connection.
