Job Description: Licensed Insurance Sales Producer

Position Overview 

We are looking for a highly driven Insurance Sales Producer to join our independent agency in Tahoe City, CA. As a producer, you will be responsible for growing your book of business by identifying new prospects, building lasting client relationships, and delivering customized insurance solutions from a variety of top-rated carriers. Key Responsibilities 

Business Development

  • Proactively generate leads through cold calling/telemarketing, networking, referrals, community involvement, and digital outreach. 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to attract new clients across commercial lines, group benefits, life, and disability coverage. 

  • Conduct in-person and virtual consultations to assess client needs and present policy options. 

Client Relationshi Management

  • Establish and nurture strong, consultative relationships with business owners.

  • Manage policy renewals, endorsements, and client servicing in a timely and professional manner. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing guidance on risk management and coverage adequacy.

Carrier & Product Expertise

  • Quote and place policies with a broad range of insurance carriers. 

  • Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting guidelines, appetite, and competitive positioning.

  • Utilize comparative rater and agency management systems to streamline quoting and servicing.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all activities unequivocally adhere to state licensing requirements, agency procedures, and ethical standards.

  • Accurately document all communications and transactions in the agency management system.

Qualifications

  • Active state insurance license preferred but not required to apply (Property & Casualty and Life & Health Licenses will be required to advance). 

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook.  

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Sales experience. 

  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset. 

  • Goal-driven and comfortable working independently. 

  • Passion for helping clients and solving complex coverage needs. 

  • Community-oriented and active in local organizations and events. 

  • Bilingual a plus (especially Spanish). 

Compensation and Work Environment

  • Full commission-based compensation (no base salary). Details available once the Non-Disclosure Agreement is signed.

  • New business and renewal commissions. 

  • Performance bonuses and carrier incentive trips. 

  • Flexible work settings (in-office to start; hybrid or remote options available once certain milestones are achieved).
